Who We Are

Born from a Passion for Fairness

Our founder, Jan Roos, faced a familiar frustration. After moving out of an apartment left in spotless condition, the landlord refused to return the $2,000 security deposit, citing bogus 'cleaning fees' and 'damages' that never existed.
The options were bleak: spend thousands on a lawyer for a small claims case or just give up. It felt like the system was designed to help landlords win by default.
That injustice was the spark. We asked a simple question: What if fighting back was easy, accessible, and affordable for everyone?
We built this solution to answer that question. We're a team of tenant advocates, legal technologists, and partner attorneys who believe that everyone deserves a safe, fair place to call home—and the power to defend it.
